fine art photography by MyMonography

Hello everybody! I’m Rita – owner of Monography (or better known as MyMonography on Etsy) fine art photography store. Originally I come from Latvia, but for now I live in Northern Ireland, Belfast. I was really happy and excited when I was asked to share one Friday with you. Here we go!

Each morning starts with a goodbye kiss of my dear husband when he leaves the home to go to work. A cup of hot coffee is waiting on the bedsite table to be emptied before it gets cold and this is when my day starts.

Well… Usually… But today I didn’t get the goodbye kiss, because my dear husband stayed home due to the common cold. At least I got my coffee and the rest of the morning was pretty much the same as usually.

01

Me, a cup of coffee and my dearest friend laptop in a bed. What can be better? This is how I’m spending the first one or sometimes two hours of a day – checking emails, looking trough my Etsy feed, convos, maybe sales. Checking social sites, sometimes chatting on Skype. It’s hard to get up quickly, especially if there is no reason for that. Exception is when I’m getting hungry and when I have to go out somewhere, because then I can be ready quite quickly. This was one of those Fridays when I had some things to be done before Saturday.

02

Quick shower, breakfast, make-up, hair done and I’m off to the city.

03

First of all I have to visit my photography lab to order couple of prints for my wonderful buyers. Then I plan a little shopping. I have a photo shoot on Saturday with my lovely friend Marta and I had a vision for her that she has to wear a red beret. I was sure that her big blue eyes will be a perfect match with the red beret. I was looking in every shop for two days so far for the classic French style beret and somehow at the end I’m finding one in United Colors of Benetton. It’s the last one, it’s perfect and on sale! I’m happy like a child.

04

Got those fab sunglasses as well while searching the hat.

05

The day is nice, but cloudy. For local people +5 degrees means it’s cold. For me – it’s still very warm, if we take in mind that I come from the country where in January ground is covered with snow. After I found everything needed, I’m going back home to have another coffee. I live in a city center so everything is near. After about an hour I have to return to photo lab and pick my prints. Then more shopping at Tescos for dinner and I’m back home at about 3pm.

06

I also decided to spoil myself a bit and bought these wonderful roses. Sometimes I just can not resist.

07

Just when I got home, it begun to rain. This is the life on island. You never know when the weather will change.

08

Finally it’s time to make something for dinner to feed my poor, ill man. I was preparing bean soup. Ingredients: two cans of baked beans, one can of sweet corn, two large potatoes, one carrot, one onion. Yummy! Sometimes when I want it to be chilli, I add a few drops of chilli sauce.

09

Fridays are my happy days and it’s not because it’s the last working day of the week. It’s because of English classes with Michael. This is not only for people who are from different countries, but also local people are coming, because it’s a great fun. Usually these lessons are in the form of discussions. It’s a great possibility to learn more about Northern Ireland and other countries as well. We share our traditions, information about wonderful places and languages as well. Here I met so many wonderful people and got some friends as well.

10

It’s 10pm.. Time to go home and say goodbye to my friends. Cup of tea, shower, some sort of tv series befor sleep and I’m off for now! I hope you enjoyed one Friday with me. As people here say: Cheerio!
