Friday is my day: Mapano

in Featured sellers, Friday is my day

Today’s Friday feature is for Alessandra from Mapano!

Hello! My name is Alessandra and I live near Turin in northern part of Italy. Today is Friday and for me and my daughters a normal day is beginning… with a little surprise at the end: my husband works away for all week long but tonight he will come back at home!

Wake up at 7 AM. A kiss and a hug for each daughter and we run to take breakfast.

Cappuccino and croissant for me, milk and chocolate for Ilaria (4 years) and milk and biscuits for Marta (1 year). After breakfast we run to get dressed. It’s very cold outside in this season so we need wool socks, heavy sweaters, pants, coats, hats, gloves and scarves.

Finally, at 8.15 AM we are ready to go outside!
In one hour more or less I bring Ilaria e Marta at their kindergarden and at 9.15 I’m finally at home. First of all I switch to my laptop, check my e-mails and my Etsy shop, I say hello to my husband and to my sister on Skype, I take a coffee (strong, really strong espresso!) and finally I start to work with my flowers.

When I have choosen colors and combinings, normally I start to cut little piece of fabrics: stripes for rosettes, squares for five petal flowers, little rectangular pieces for pannolenci flowers, etc. Today, for instance, I’m working for a new home decor. When I’ve finished cutting all fabrics, I start to prepare carefully every single little flower. Every bunch of fabric flowers is unique and I try to imagine it on the wall of a nursery, a kitchen, a powder room or a lounge.

Normally I work until 2 PM when I take my lunch and at 2.30 PM I go out to pick up Marta from her kindergarden. Ilaria stays at school until 4 PM, so in the meantime we are waiting for her, Marta and me have a little time to make shopping or to go to the Postal Office to ship some orders from Etsy!

At 5 PM we are finally at home. Now is time to watch TV and sometimes I like to watch cartoons with my daughters!

Normally we take dinner at 7.00 PM but tonight we are waiting for dad, so we are preparing something special for him: a beautiful homemade Italian PIZZA!!
