A while back, sometime before the team’s charity shop opened, the team had an idea. We would love to try a team project: a granny square blanket to work on together on volunteer basis, to raise money for charity. This is what Baa, the driving force and the co-ordinator behind the project says:
“Many packages poured in from all over Europe: Latvia, Germany, Finland, Turkey, Austria, Norway, France… all of them containing colorful granny squares, amounting to more than 100 squares. It took a long time to decide on a way to put them together, and even more time to actually do it, but we are pleased with the result: A unique blanket of 126 x 96 cm with color islands, surrounded by little squares made with love and collected from all around Europe.”

The collected money will go to Architecture for Humanity to support their reconstruction work in disaster-struck areas all over the world. We love their way of bringing together local architects with communities in need, to build sustainable homes that will benefit the people for a long period of time.

- The auction is open for a week and ends on Friday, December 9th at 18.00 GMT. The highest bidder will be contacted via email after the auction has been closed.
Extra good: With the rest of the granny squares we made colorful buntings. 3 lucky bidders will win a colorful bunting with different colors!
